REVELATION
Drift shimmer water, gentle breeze blown
Flowing with life’s continual motion
Shifting with shadows enhancing depth
Swirls and eddies over mud-scurried low
Lying flat rocks, branches, scum, debris
We are static yet the gentle shift moves us
In swirls we catch blow, are jettisoned to new
Better, brighter levels, places of learning
And yearning development swelled by nature’s
Powerful proud purposeful passion and play.
Little eddies stop and linger, lurk in dark places
Beneath the green strong new shoots
Shadowing softly umbrella shaping
Strong textures, patterns of place which quietly move
Sprout harmony and life’s joy bringing
Contemplation as I watch the flow is more
Becomes itself in the peeping sun
And blue lights the depths where glorious
Gardens sheen and bold dark branches
Frame my heart is lifted
Embedded, blessed in this beauty.
How I long for a fish to call
With my mind, ‘Here’s a place to dance and dart.’
The murky soily water clears in part
My clarity is coming too and yet
In my gut is a tightness-breather, relax, expand
The sun glows strong behind darker cloud
Hope lifted soul bestir yourself.
Moths flutter round dittying, dallying
The show is full-on fluttering
The sun fades into the grey
Yet comes again to explain
What I cannot yet see or know.
Her warm rays light bright across
The world, a global glow
And clouds drift swifting to hide
Her newing face, a race to some new place
And I wonder .
Cold are they, ice water frozen but
do not melt in their speeding past
to escape the snare as does the river
still-moving beneath me and the bridge.
Grasses wave in the breeze
Sturdy, well-planted, soil-searched
Stable self-seeded satisfied and happy
In their nestling just a position.
The ripple of life,
I feel all of this, the kiss
Bliss. I’m happy to be here
In colour, nature’s
Place and mine in the embrace
I feel safe just me, that’s all
I need and love for all.
Appreciation’s in my soul,
Gratitude grows in the cells
Of me increasingly.
